The idea

A composed contemporary residence where strong roof planes, stone, concrete, glass, and integrated lighting create a bold but welcoming home.

The home balances a disciplined exterior with warmer, quieter rooms. Broad horizontal frames organize the façade while carefully placed lighting gives the architecture depth after dark.

The site

Conditions and constraints.

  • Full narrative and confirmed project facts still being gathered.
  • Long horizontal roof planes requiring careful drainage and expansion detailing.
  • Maintaining privacy along the elongated elevations.

Design response

Key architectural moves

  1. 01

Horizontal concrete frames give the elevation a clear order.

  2. 02

Stone panels add texture and visually ground the home.

  3. 03

Large openings bring daylight into restrained interiors.

  4. 04

Integrated lighting emphasizes planes and material changes without visual clutter.

Constructability

The building problem behind the design.

Long roof planes and continuous frames make formwork alignment and drainage the critical items. The construction documents will address scupper and gutter integration, movement joints, and soffit lighting coordination before site work begins.
